Website Wednesday: Mr. Nussbaum

nussbaumby Kristie Burk

I originally discovered Mr. Nussbaum’s website when I saw a pin on an elementary school teacher’s Pinterest board.  Mr. Nussbaum is a sixth grade teacher in Fairfax County who developed his website “with the idea that crucial concepts, themes, ideas, and fact sets taught in the classroom can be enhanced over the internet through interactivity.”  It includes interactive games and activities designed for K-8 students in history, science, math, language arts, and geography.

For example, my third grader has been studying the United States regions this year. MrNussbaum.com includes interactive scavenger hunts for students, state identification quizzes, interactive regions and state maps, short videos on each state, printable maps or outlines, state jigsaw puzzles, and facts about each state.

Check out the site and let us know if you find something useful!
